Despite inevitable difficulties, people are consciously ready for decisive reforms proclaimed by the President of Ukraine. This was stressed by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the meeting with representatives of local authorities and local self-government bodies of Donetsk region on Friday.
According to the Chairman of the Parliament, during today’s working visit he assured himself that people “understand perfectly well that without deep changes in all spheres of life, without radical reforming of our state, Ukraine is doomed for slow but continuous lagging behind the whole world”.
The idea of accelerating the process of reforms was being constantly repeated during the talk with local citizens. Volodymyr Rybak said that the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych demands that in 2013 “the new impetus should be given to boost economic growth and, thus, social living standards of citizens”. “I shall remind that this presidential call is addressed mainly not to people, but to the authorities, and primarily, to local authorities and bodies of local self-government,” he said.
“The time itself and the population require decisive actions to be taken to accelerate presidential reforms, particularly in such social spheres, as medical services, education, housing and public utility sector, pension insurance, intergovernmental relations, and the system of social protection,” the Chairman the Parliament summed.
